Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by your professional English-speaking guide, who will assist with your transfer to Kampala, Uganda’s vibrant capital. After your long journey, you’ll be driven to Fairway Boutique Hotel for an overnight stay. The hotel offers comfort and excellent services, providing a peaceful environment where you can relax and unwind after your flight. The evening is free for you to rest, take in the city vibes, or enjoy a delicious meal at the hotel.
After an early breakfast at the hotel, you’ll begin your scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the gateway to the gorilla trekking experience. The journey will take approximately 8-10 hours, giving you the chance to soak in the beauty of Uganda’s countryside as you pass through rolling hills, lush green landscapes, and charming villages. Along the way, you’ll have several opportunities to stop for a stretch, take photos, and learn about the different areas you pass through. The drive is comfortable and safe in a 4x4 Land Cruiser, ensuring a smooth ride through Uganda’s sometimes rugged terrain.
Upon arrival at Chameleon Lodge, you’ll check in and be greeted with breathtaking views of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This eco-friendly lodge is an ideal base for your adventure, offering a tranquil atmosphere and a chance to relax before your big trek the next day. Enjoy a delicious dinner and reflect on the stunning landscapes you’ve encountered during the drive
This day marks the highlight of your safari: the Gorilla Trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the forest for your trek. The trek through the dense, mist-covered forest can be challenging, but it’s well worth the effort. You’ll be led by professional park rangers and guides who will help you navigate the rugged terrain, while sharing their knowledge about the forest’s flora, fauna, and the conservation efforts in place to protect the endangered mountain gorillas.
Once you’ve located one of the gorilla families, you’ll spend a thrilling hour observing them in their natural habitat. Witnessing these magnificent creatures up close—watching them feed, interact, and socialize—will undoubtedly be a life-changing experience. You’ll be able to take photographs, but remember to maintain a respectful distance from the gorillas. After the encounter, you’ll trek back to Chameleon Lodge, where you can relax and reflect on the unforgettable experience over a meal.
On the final day of your safari, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture of the Batwa Tribe. The Batwa people, often referred to as the “Pygmies,” are one of Uganda’s indigenous tribes. For centuries, they lived in harmony with the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, using its resources for shelter, food, and medicine. During your visit, you’ll learn about their ancient customs, hear their stories, and witness traditional performances that offer insight into their unique way of life.
After your enriching cultural experience, you’ll begin your journey back to Kampala. The drive will take approximately 8-10 hours, giving you time to reflect on your adventure. Upon reaching Entebbe International Airport, you will be transferred for your evening flight, marking the end of your incredible Uganda safari.
